An ongoing career satisfaction survey from Career Explorer reveals that software engineers rate the meaningfulness of their work, on average, at just 2.7 out of 5. For many in the tech industry, struggling to find a sense of purpose and fulfillment in day-to-day tasks can lead to frustration and, eventually, burnout. Working at Coforma is different. In our 2023 employee engagement survey, 93% of Cofolx agreed that they feel fulfilled by the work they’re doing here. This stems from our mission-driven ethos and a focus on truly understanding the people we’re building technology for so it can improve their lives. As Senior Software Engineer Karla M. Valcárcel Martínez puts it, “When I sit in on user research sessions with design and product, and users share how a new feature is impacting their experience, I’m able to connect with the larger ‘why’ behind our work. That is very fulfilling.” Karla also finds personal satisfaction when she’s contributing to her team. "Being able to collaborate with other engineers and come up with a solution together as part of my day-to-day makes me feel like I am able to contribute to Coforma in a meaningful way.” #EngineeringJobs #CivicTech #Culture #HCD

Please join us in welcoming Coforma’s Senior Accessibility Engineer, Homer Gaines, CPACC! Homer began developing websites in ’94 to the tune of AOL dial-up tones. His unique background in traditional art, graphic design, behavioral psychology, and engineering led him to the accessibility field in 2001. “Specializing in accessibility was the logical choice,” Homer shares. “It allowed me to lean on my talents and lived experiences. Ever since, I’ve focused on leading, promoting, and advancing accessibility at every stage in the product development lifecycle.” Homer has led accessibility talks and workshops all over the world. The social impact of Coforma’s services and the fact that we prioritize accessibility so highly played a big role in his decision to join the team. “As a player-coach, I look forward to helping level up our teams and increasing accessibility awareness throughout the organization and beyond,” he shares. Homer pursues a myriad of interests outside of work from his home base in Atlanta, GA. In addition to being an independent recording artist, he’s a volunteer rescue diver, international keynote speaker, educator, and gamer. “But the best part is being married to my wife and daddy to three amazing children,” he says. Great to have you on the team, Homer! #CoformaCareers #A11Y #Accessibility #AccessibleDesign #RemoteJobs #CivicTech

The Congressional Hackathon is a long-standing bipartisan event that brings together members of Congress, congressional staff, government transparency advocates, and digital services leaders to accelerate solutions for making Congress more transparent, accessible, and effective. The 2024 event was heavily focused on AI, with conversations on cybersecurity, constituent-centered approaches, and responsibly automating commonly used processes and services. Coforma CEO, Eduardo F. O., and Senior Director of Public Interest, Megan Uhrich, were in attendance for the second year in a row. “It was great to see new technologists—college students and recent grads—present their ideas in the lightning rounds,” Megan shares. Many of the ideas developed during prior Congressional Hackathons have since been adopted by Congress. We’re honored to participate in events and conversations like these to share ideas and potential solutions, connect with others, and help shape the future of government services. #GovernmentServices #Leadership #Innovation #TechForGood

We’re honored to announce that Coforma has secured a new contract with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to support the Medicaid Drug Program (MDP). This critical program helps offset the federal and state costs of outpatient prescription drugs for Medicaid recipients and calculate rebate amounts drug manufacturers owe to state Medicaid agencies to cover these costs. We’ve assembled a powerhouse of industry-leading firms to help us deliver this work, including For People, ICF/SemanticBits, Oddball, Stratiform Digital, Element Solutions, and Blue Tiger. Our team includes Medicaid policy experts, human-centered researchers and designers, agile engineers, and others who collectively bring decades of experience supporting CMS. We’re also joined by experts in pharmacy rebates, pricing, and pharmacy data collection and reporting systems who guide our efforts in creating policy-aligned products and services to help ensure Medicaid recipients have affordable access to prescription drugs. Team Coforma will provide high-impact solutions to maintain the MDP’s operational excellence, reduce manual interventions, generate a clear, viable roadmap for future innovations, and reduce administrative burden for CMS personnel. Anchoring our efforts in an approach based on human-centered design principles, we’re committed to ongoing user engagement, iterative testing, and close collaboration with the CMS team and users as we develop and improve the MDP suite of products and services. We’re ready to roll up our sleeves and get to work! #Healthcare #HealthIT #CivicTech #DigitalServices #GovernmentServices
