We'll bring you the best. And we'll give you our best.
About us
We identify, recruit, and evaluate leaders. We help clients match executive talent with organizational needs and help develop that talent for the future. With offices in Charlotte and New York, we consider the entire United States – and beyond – our market and your talent pool. Our team is a seamless blend of two nationally respected, independent firms. Canny, Bowen – a generalist firm with particular expertise in industrial and legal searches – was founded in New York in 1954. Coleman Lew was founded in Charlotte, NC in 1979 by Chuck Lew, now retired. He, too, was committed to being a generalist. And to adhering to the highest standards. One of his key partners, Shana Plott, was named CEO in 2016. She became CEO of the combined company in January 2019. Our two firms encountered each other many times over our long history – sometimes as competitors. But we recognized our similarities – an emphasis on ethics and exemplary client service, first-rate teams we’re proud to invest in, a desire to be true partners to our clients, and a history of successful completion of search engagements leading to client relationships that last for decades. In 2019, we joined forces to offer clients the best of our collective talents. We’re physically located in New York and Charlotte, but we tap into a global network. That network allows us to scout and recruit the best people. Since 1954, we have served a diverse roster of public, private, nonprofit, and international clients.

Jane's Fund + Lauren. Does it get any better? Thrilled to follow this journey. It is going to be incredible.
One week in and I have yet to find words for the excitement, inspiration and honor I feel about starting this new chapter. 35 years in Charlotte and 13 in the non profit space and I've never seen philanthropy done quite the way Jane's Fund is doing it. I truly can't believe I get to be a part of this remarkable, personal, and impactful mission. I really wish I'd been lucky enough to know Jane. I hope you'll check out her story and the way her family is changing the world: https://lnkd.in/gJBdpH3Z

Impressive group of honorees, many of whom I admire. An especially big congrats to my dear friend Dr. Monique Perry-Graves. Well deserved!

IN GOOD COMPANY: Late last week (while I was in DC for work) the Charlotte Business Journal released its Power 100 list of leaders in the region. While I knew I made this list and had to keep it under wraps, it was only a couple weeks ago that I knew I would be part of the cover spread with several leaders in our region that made this honor all the better. Now my mother called me Friday morning and she has already posted this (LOL), so I am finally getting around to doing so in celebration of my cover spread colleagues (tagged) and others that I have enjoyed engaging with in this work to make the region a place for all that were also named to this list such as Adrienne Bain, Charlitta Hatch, Helen Hope Kimbrough, Robyn Lake Hamilton, Blair Stanford, Betsy Mack, Lex Kondratyk ,CPSD, Shayla Cannady and LaToya Faustin. I will post the link to the full list in my comments, and here's to using our leadership in all the best of ways! #leadership #charlottebusinessjournal #power100
