Focused on AI in education. Teacher, speaker, OER textbook author, consultant. Educators can be critical, curious, playful, and pragmatic as we move forward together on AI.
I'm really glad to be able to share "Building a Culture for Generative AI Literacy in College Language, Literature, and Writing," the third working paper from the Modern Language Association-National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) CCCC Joint Task Force on Writing and AI and representatives of other disciplinary groups. https://lnkd.in/gCXVpjfD Here's a taste: "A culture of critical AI literacy is meant to be neither for nor against the use of AI; rather, it involves a measured examination and evaluation of its potential advantages for humanity alongside its pitfalls and limitations." We worked hard on this, and we didn't always agree, but we came together to create something we hope will be useful in ongoing discussions of how educators respond to and shape AI. Here's a a two-page handout on AI literacy based on the working paper: https://lnkd.in/gTHKEvAe And Holly Hassel, Antonio Byrd, Leonardo Flores, and Jen William will be hosting a free MLA webinar on the working paper Wednesday, 20 November 2024, at 2:00 pm EST: https://lnkd.in/gcm4AzvP Elizabeth Losh Sarah Z.
