About us

Who will transform the human experience? Spartans will in the College of Social Science! The College of Social Science at Michigan State University (MSU) is a community of scholars committed to creating, disseminating, and applying knowledge in the social, behavioral and economic sciences. Faculty engage in both disciplinary and interdisciplinary collaborative research to gain in-depth answers to real world problems on local, national, and international levels. Students prepare to become leaders through challenging coursework and enriching practical experiences. The college is the largest and among the most diverse at MSU; more than 6,300 undergraduate and graduate students are enrolled in its 13 major disciplines. Nearly 400 tenured and tenure-stream faculty provide instructional, research, and outreach services within its eight departments, three schools, and seven centers and institutes.
