You’ve undoubtedly heard about the demographic cliff for the last decade (or more), but the focus on that shift is eclipsing immediate, pressing trends that all higher ed marketers need to be aware of and work to address. I'm excited to share my latest article, "Four Trends That Will Shape Higher Ed Marketing," which was published in Inside Higher Ed. In it, I explore the key shifts reshaping how institutions connect with students and build meaningful engagement. These trends include the “search cliff,” which could mean that by 2027, almost 1 million fewer names will be available to purchase — greatly impacting top-of-funnel and equity efforts.
