Thank you for visiting our facility and for the kind words, Joshua. We're glad you enjoyed the tour and got a firsthand look at the quality and innovation behind our products. We appreciate your support.
Today, I had the privilege to tour the Colmac Coil Manufacturing, Inc. facility in Paxton, IL. I’ve always loved the quality and serviceability of Colmac coils and they definitely standout when you see one in the wild. Another cool thing about Colmac is if you have an obsolete coil or hg pan etc, they’re more than willing to build one offs to support their customers. What a crazy experience this was to see all the work that goes into building these evaporators and adiabatic condensers. I probably said “that’s so awesome” 60 times today. Big thanks to Jeremy Olberding for an extremely informative tour! This guy has answers for days and obviously loves his job and company! If you’re curious about Colmac products, I highly suggest reaching out to him! These guys KNOW how to make a premium product! I’m an even bigger fan now! I will be posting more over the next few days about some of the cool things that Colmac is building for our industry.

Here’s a glimpse of our current work at an Indiana cold storage warehouse, where we’re installing four state-of-the-art 50.1 TR Fully Insulated Penthouse Units. What makes these units exceptional? They’re designed for maximum efficiency and convenience—no need for constructing an actual penthouse around them. Just place them on the roof, and they’re good to go! ❄️ Key Features: 🔹 Pre-built with insulated doors and heat trace for optimal temperature control. 🔹 Equipped with LED lighting for energy efficiency. 🔹 Includes service outlets and motor hoist arm for easy maintenance. 🔹 Features integrated power/control panels for seamless operation. These units will cool both the dock and mezzanine at a consistent 35°F, covering 36,007 square feet. #MepEngineering #Industrial #Refrigeration #ColdStorage #WeDoThatToo

First onsite visit after the delivery of a 70ft long industrial recirculating co2 system in Cincinnati for a food processing facility (4 spiral freezers @-40F, one big holding freezer with 2 penthouses @-10F and a cooler room). Nice visit and great collaboration with the refrigeration contractor. Amazing visit!!!

Traditional blast freezers typically blow cooling air in one direction across the product, leading to longer freezing times and varying product quality based on placement within the freezer. The product furthest from the cooling air stream takes significantly longer to freeze, resulting in lower quality. Colmac Coil Reversible Air Flow Evaporator Technology addresses this challenge by changing the air flow direction of the blast freezer during the freezing cycle. By switching the air flow, the coldest air now reaches the product initially staged at the “back” of the freezer. Benefits of reversing airflow evaporators: • Shorter freezing times: the batch cools evenly throughout, reducing freezing time. • Energy efficiency: reduced evaporator and compressor power consumption. • Uniform product quality: more consistent temperature and quality for frozen products. • Fewer defrost cycles: improved system efficiency. Reversing airflow evaporators allow fan motors to operate in two directions: forced (blow-through) and induced (draw-through). This strategic switching lowers overall freezing time. CFD Analysis: Colmac’s engineering team can perform Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling to predict airflow patterns and fan power requirements in your blast cell. Look at these Colmac Reversing Air Flow Blast Freezers for a customer in Latin America! Colmac Coil’s Reversing Air Flow Evaporator Technology improves the performance of blast freezers/coolers in certain applications. Traditional blast freezers blow cooling air in one direction across the product the entire time, and this results in a longer freezing time and a variation in product quality based on its placement in the freezer. The product furthest from the air entrance takes much longer to freeze and results in lower quality. Reversible Air Flow evaporators address this by changing the air flow direction during the freezing cycle. Switching the air flow direction places the coldest air on the product that was initially staged in the “back” of the freezer. This results in the batch being cooled evenly throughout, reducing freezing time and improving product quality. Our engineering team can perform a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis of the blast cell to predict airflow patterns and fan power requirements.
