Last week, our CREATE Culture committee hosted a staff appreciation event during lunch at our Champions Golf Course location! Employees from all across the department gathered to enjoy delicious cookout-themed foods and receive golfing tips from golf staff at the driving range. The CREATE Culture Committee is a volunteer group of staff who are focused on promoting a positive work environment and improving the employee experience.

Happy First Day of School to all of the Columbus City Schools - Ohio students! 🥳✏️🎒 We got to bring the hype to Ohio Avenue Elementary School and clapped the students in to celebrate the new school year!

This group of nine members advises the department’s Recreation and Parks Commission, and there are three openings available. EJ's Warriors Karate Academy is one of our awesome Summer Youth Grant Awardees provided by the City of Columbus. Along with enhancing their karate skills, the campers develop character, self-confidence, discipline and honor through engaging activities.

In honor of National Parks and Recreation Month, members of our APPs Job Readiness Program members proudly accepted a resolution from Columbus City Council! This year's theme, "Where You Belong," celebrates how park and recreation professionals create welcoming, inclusive spaces that foster meaningful connections in our community. Our APPs Job Readiness Program empowers youth ages 14-23 with the tools and experiences they need to pursue their future goals confidently. #NationalParksAndRecreationMonth #WhereYouBelong

We are honored to partner with LiFEsports at The Ohio State University this summer! Together, we are delivering golf instruction and character lessons to participants at three Columbus Recreation and Parks community centers. Through fun-filled games and interactive activities, we are introducing many kids to the wonderful world of golf for the very first time! A huge thanks to LiFEsports at The Ohio State University for this fantastic collaboration opportunity!
