Yesterday was an incredibly special day! CLC staff joined Berkshire Bird Observatory at Ooms to band the last fledgling Kestrels of the season. Amazingly, these birds are about as large as they will grow, with the average Kestrel topping out at nine to eleven inches tall. The colored bands you see will let us know in the future if these birds come back to breed at Ooms. We hope to see them again, but next time as parents! [All banding, marking, and sampling is conducted under a federally authorized Bird Banding Permit issued by the USGS BBL.] #ColumbiaCounty #GetOutside
