The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio selected the Mobile Crisis Unit for the 2024 Polaris Community Service Award! The award exemplifies exceptional innovation, collaboration and dedication in community service. The Mobile Crisis Response Unit pairs Columbus police officers and Columbus Public Health social workers to de-escalate and stabilize crisis situations. The team then connects patients to resources and follow up care. Their proactive outreach efforts have increased the number of positive interactions among the community and law enforcement.
