Sailing as one 🇺🇸⚓️ 🤝 The Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Gettysburg (CG 64) and Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyers, USS Stout (DDG 55) and USS Jason Dunham (DDG 109), transited through the Strait of Dover for the North Sea, Oct. 14 as part of the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group.

24 years ago the US Navy lost 17 Sailors in the attack on USS Cole. Today, we pause to remember the lives lost and the sacrifices made by every ‘Determined Warrior’ on the ship that day. Those warfighters not only saved the ship, but saved countless lives, living the Navy values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment.

Andrew Triplett, 31, of Macon, Miss. ⭐️Seaman Craig B. Wibberley, 19, of Williamsport, Md. The attack injured 37 additional Sailors. Crewmembers fought the fires and stopped the flooding for hours following the attack. The Cole returned to sea in 2002. As we pay tribute to those lost, Cole is currently deployed in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe area of operations, employed by U.S. 6th Fleet to defend U.S., allied and partner interests.
