About us

Brought to life by a Kickstarter campaign in 2013, Commodity has gone from crowd-funded to crowd-favorite thanks to its continuous redesign of the fragrance experience. Most notable is their coining of Scent Space: a classification system that invites you to take control of your fragrance’s projection, of who else experiences your fragrance. Each Commodity fragrance is available in three different Scent Spaces–Personal, Expressive, and Bold–so that you can choose your fragrance and your projection.

    You wouldn’t know from my accent, but I’m not actually born in America. As an immigrant, the right to vote is especially important for me. Let’s take a minute off from shopping (and business) today and make sure we all vote….for whoever!     We’re now streaming S3, Ep 3 of our Docuseries: “Virtual Tour” !! The first time we brought our flagship store to life in 3D was using Rhino, a professional rendering tool. I was obsessed with seeing the space from every angle and layering in the details. It allowed us to approach every element, and as a result the entire store experience, with intention and purpose. In this episode, we're giving you the same immersive experience—an exclusive virtual tour of our 3D store design, just as if you’ve stepped into our Rhino render with me.     Our Docuseries is officially back for Season 3, EP 1: Navigating NYC. In today's episode, we are sharing our journey to find the perfect location for our first flagship store in NYC. We’ll explore the varying (and often cost-prohibitive) rental costs across different neighborhoods, revealing which spots impressed us, which ones didn’t quite meet our expectations, and, where we ultimately decided to set up shop.     Our Docuseries is (finally) back!!! For those unacquainted with the Series: After Vicken purchased Commodity in 2019, he was determined to maintain this momentum and regain the direct connection with the audience, so he launched a new behind-the-scenes Docuseries. 2-5-minute videos inviting fans to join the brand’s relaunch journey and peak behind the fragrance industry curtains, all while having their opinions heard. The Series was astonishingly well received. One episode, “The Chopping Block,” garnered 300 comments with such an outcry to keep “Moss” that the fragrance was moved back into the mainline! After Covid, life got busy and the episodes stopped, until now. For Season 3, we’ll be giving you the behind-the-scenes look at the making our first-ever NYC Flagship store!     In this edition of our #MeetTheTeam series, we’re introducing Gabriela Della Corna. Gabriela is our Head of Creative Advertising, so if you've come across one of our Ads, that's Gabriela's work! She officially joined the team in July 2023. However, her journey with Commodity began at her previous company, Kworq, where she collaborated on Ad-based projects with both Commodity and Europerfumes. With over five years of working closely with Vicken, Inbal, and others, her transition to an in-house role was exceptionally seamless! As you can probably tell by now, Commodity prides itself on fostering longstanding connections and making sure our team members thrive and stay with us for the long haul.

    Summer is generally known as the quieter season, with business partners on leave and team members out-of-office, but for us it’s been quite the opposite.  So far, we’ve: • Launched a New Fragrance (Juice) • Launched in Skins (Netherlands) • Launched in Dover Street Parfums Market (France) • Launched a digital Summer Series (Sense of Summer) And we’re just ramping up. Stay tuned for arguably our most major launch yet: our New York Flagship. Coming October 2024. #Retail #BrandBuilding #GlobalBrand
