Thank you again NBC News for the opportunity to share important conversations for parents to be thoughtful of what and how we share images of our children, friends, and families with social media this back to school season. Extremely blessed to reconnect with fellow University of San Francisco Don, Vicky Nguyen as well. What a moment.

A new article from SheKnows highlights our latest research data on screen time, revealing that teens average 8.5 hours per day, and that nearly 50% of teens are online "almost constantly." Diving deeper into the research, YouTube, Snapchat, and Instagram are the most frequently used platforms, and while many teens may use social media to relax, some underestimate their screen time and respond that it's challenging to control their usage. These findings underscore the complex role of the internet as a potential escape from real-life challenges and are valuable to both parents and educators, as screen time often carries over from home to school. As our summer internship program comes to a close, we want to extend a huge thank you to our incredible interns who joined us from across the country. Your hard work, creativity, and dedication have made a significant impact on our team, and we couldn’t be more appreciative. To celebrate your time with us, we wrapped up the season with a presentation of your phenomenal projects, followed by memorable outing to a Giants vs. White Sox baseball game. It was a fantastic way to enjoy some fun, reflect on your achievements, and say a proper goodbye. We are so grateful for your contributions and wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Thank you for being a part of our team and for all your thoughtful, hard work this summer! #Internship #ThankYou #TeamCelebration #BaseballGame #FutureLeaders

Check out this great op-ed from our Ariel Fox Johnson in The 74 Media on 50 years of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), which established early protections for students' personally identifiable information. But thanks to advancing technology, today's classroom poses a lot more risks. And it's time for this policy to get an update.
Happy birthday FERPA! 🎉 The federal student privacy law turns 50 today. As explained more in this piece in The 74, it is showing its age. And, especially post Loper Bright, the ball is in Congress' court to update it. #privacy #StudentPrivacy Common Sense Media The 74 Media

This week Common Sense Media had the honor of hosting educators from the South Korean Ministry of Education. Our conversation was so powerful that I was inspired to write a short article about the experience. I'm grateful to Jenna Jang(Lee) for helping make this event happen and to the amazing Jamie Nunez for being such a fun co-facilitator.
