This week, Common Threads teamed up with our partners at Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield /Elevance Health, iHeartMedia, and the WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association) for an exciting, jam-packed two days at College Park Elementary School in Atlanta! 🎉 We had an incredible time working with students, families, and staff through cooking activities and nutrition education programs. The students cooked up some yummy treats in our Small Bites and A Taste of College Park programs👩🍳, while lucky 5th graders enjoyed our "Manners Matter" program focusing on dining etiquette at the Georgia International Convention Center. Huge thanks to our partners and the dedicated Common Threads team for making this event possible! 🙌 #NutritionEducation #CommunityPartnerships #FoodIsMedicine

We're incredibly grateful for the support of our partners – Elevance Health/ Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, iHeartMedia, and the WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association)! 🌟 Without them, we wouldn't be able to bring impactful programs to life, making a difference in nutrition education nationwide. Their unwavering dedication fuels our mission, and we're privileged to have such remarkable partners on our side. Thank you for your continued collaboration and commitment!
This week rounded out our second year of Common Threads programming that provided students, families and staff with cooking and nutrition education at College Park Elementary School in Atlanta. The school’s 5th graders took a field trip to the Georgia International Convention Center, where they were treated to a multi-course meal as part of the “Manners Matter” interactive experience focused on teaching basic etiquette and the importance of not only enjoying a meal, but also the company dining with you. And, last night’s Taste of College Park event showcased the healthy snacks that students learned how to make through Common Thread’s Small Bites program. This was true partnership at work with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, iHeartMedia, Common Threads and Atlanta Dream WNBA to help improve the health of our communities.

What a great way to enjoy a beautiful SoCal day! 🌞 We are honored to have been part of a special United States Department of Agriculture event at Sotomayor Arts and Sciences Magnet, where we had the privilege of hearing from esteemed guests dedicated to enhancing child nutrition in the US. From USDA Secretary Thomas J. Vilsack to California First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom and Karen Ross, Secretary of CDFA, it was inspiring to listen to their insights. Grateful for the opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces and forge connections with new friends! 🌟 #ChildNutrition #CommunityEngagement #foodismedicine

Chef Eduardo Garcia, also known as the Bionic Chef, recently stopped by Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies to connect with our student chefs and experience firsthand the Common Threads Kitchen Clinic program. We are so thankful to have partners like Chef Garcia to help us educate about the importance of nutrition when it comes to what we eat and drink. Check out how his visit went!
