  • It’s an honor to introduce Joseph “Joe” Brown, a distinguished Vietnam Veteran who proudly served in the U.S. Army from July 1969 to September 1971. Joe is a resident at Southbrook Healthcare Center. Recently, the center’s team worked diligently to arrange Joe’s participation in Honor Flight Dayton, an organization that takes veterans to visit national memorials in Washington, D.C. It was a success and Joe flew out alongside fellow veterans on September 21. This special experience continued when he arrived back in Ohio and was met with a welcome home celebration, with decorations extending from the airport, to the bus and in his room at Southbrook Healthcare Center. Everyone expressed their heartfelt appreciation for Joe and his courageous service. Joe asked his Honor Flight guardian, Brittany, “Is this all for me?” She responded, “Yes, Joe. It’s all for you.” Thank you for your service, Joe. ❤️

  • Our Heartland Division executive directors were joined by CommuniCare President Ronnie Wilheim, COO Dick Odenthal and VP of Business Development Amy Severino to learn about E4—our dedication to serve every patient, every team member, behind every door and in every room, every day! Each region showed their team spirit, including... 💪 Unified's Battle Tested 🚧 Lion Heart's Construction Crew 🛤️ Pioneer's Railroad Workers 💛 and Mountaineer's Blue & Gold Pride They competed in team building and engagement activities that could be taken back to their centers for all team members to participate in! And of course, Division President Rich Valentic cheered everyone on throughout the day. 😄💙 #TrueBlue

  • Meet Grace and Catrina, unit managers at Summersville Healthcare Center! Grace joined the team this May. She discovered her passion for geriatrics after working in a medical-surgical unit and shared the following about her experience: "I enjoy getting to spend one-on-one time with my residents. I try to bring them as much joy as they bring me." Catrina joined us in June after graduating from the University of Charleston in April. Prior to this, she worked as an LPN for 10 years and her first job in long-term care was an activities aide when she was a teenager! When asked why she enjoys this field, Catrina said, "in this environment we get to know our residents on a more personal level and we get to help make every day better." We're beyond grateful for each of you and appreciate your leadership! 💙 #TrueBlue
