We’re so appreciative of Jenny Lampert and the Dubois County Justice Reinvestment Advisory Council (JRAC) for embracing a fresh approach to addressing substance misuse and mental health in their community. By openly sharing their established processes, key areas of improvement, and obstacles standing in their way, we were able to collaborate on tailored solutions that support long-term healing instead of short-term fixes. “Within a 5 year time frame, they have helped us improve substance misuse and mental health services tenfold. Some of these things we had been trying to accomplish for over 15 years!” We’re grateful for the trust of the entire team as we work to create lasting change in how Dubois County addresses substance use and mental health challenges. #CommunitySolutions #DuboisCounty #Clients #SubstanceUse #MentalHealth

Indiana is making great strides toward ending the impact of HIV on our communities. Through our partnership with the Zero is Possible Initiative (ZIP-IN), we’ve been supporting organizations across the state to form active coalitions with a shared vision: ending HIV and Hepatitis C by 2030 while changing the stigma associated with these diseases. This important work centers on engaging people with lived experience, educating the workforce and providing holistic care for those affected. At Community Solutions, we’re proud to stand alongside these community coalitions to drive this transformative change. #CommunitySolutions #ZeroIsPossible #HIV #Change

👻 Ready for a ghost story? 👻 Our building has quite the colorful past, thanks to its original owner Fred Heier, an infamous gambling ringleader. Fred was murdered after refusing to give a patron 25 cents after a disagreement over a card game. Adding to the eerie history, Fred’s brother August killed himself by seemingly randomly drinking carbolic acid. Ever since, there have been stories claiming visitors have experienced odd occurrences in this building - unexplained noises, footsteps, and sudden cold spots - making us wonder if spirits from that time are still hanging around. #CommunitySolutions #GhostStory #Halloween #IndianapolisHistory #Haunted

🍁🍂 Crafting our way into Autumn 🍂🍁 Every 5th Monday, we take a break from our to-do list and make time to come together for a fun team outing or activity. This time, we welcomed the chilly weather by cutting, sewing, and stitching some fall-themed designs. While we love collaborating on projects, it’s always refreshing to step away and do something creative together. We’re really thankful to have such a great team here at Community Solutions! #CommunitySolutions #TeamBuilding #Crafting #Creativity

🌟 We’re thrilled to welcome Sophie to the team! 🌟 Sophie Hackett brings a wealth of experience across non-profit community development, government and private industry, including her impactful work as Chief of Staff to Colorado Representative Leslie Herod, where she played a key role in passing legislation that improved the lives of Coloradans throughout the state. Sophie recognizes no one person holds all the answers, so she’s excited to collaborate with the Community Solutions team to help foster happy, healthy and prosperous communities. Always a fan of an underdog story, Sophie thrives on a “backs against the wall” mentality, motivating her both personally and professionally. Welcome, Sophie - we’re excited to see all the great work ahead! #CommunitySolutions #StaffSpotlight #Welcome #Collaboration

We’re all about helping our clients grow and succeed - but how do we ensure they thrive without losing sight of their core values? When people hear “Growing Capacity,” they often think in terms of business growth. At Community Solutions, we approach it differently: how can we support organizations in expanding/strengthening their good work while creating sustainable environments for their teams and staying true to their mission? Through initiatives like the Accelerator Initiative, we’ve helped grassroots organizations across Indiana grow strategically. By providing coaching, training, and leadership development, we have helped them build their organization’s capacity to ensure that they will be able to serve their communities far into the future. Growth is great, but strategic, sustainable growth is even better! #CommunitySolutions #GrowingCapacity #Values #Mission

📢 We heard you and are ready to push for change! 📢 The Night of 100 Women was a tremendous success, and we’re so grateful for the vulnerability shared by those striving for a future where women’s mental health is prioritized. With feedback from the surveys and conversations, we’re excited about the work the Women's Fund of Central Indiana will do to turn these insights into actionable strategies. Financial and time barriers emerged as the most significant obstacles preventing women from accessing the mental health support they need, followed by accessibility and availability. It was also made clear that there are changes needed at the interpersonal, workplace and societal levels to reshape our communities into ones that prioritize better mental health. At Community Solutions, we’re energized seeing this data as it provides clarity and guidance on how to improve our current systems. #CommunitySolutions #Insights #MentalHealth

Join us at this year’s Marion County Conference on Reentry! Reentry work can be complicated, and there can be times when it’s easy to feel isolated in the work, which is why this conference is crucial for reconnecting, learning from one another, and finding inspiration in the ongoing efforts to address system issues and supporting individuals as they work to be successful. This year’s conference will focus on creativity and mindfulness, with key themes such as harm reduction, the disproportionate impact on people of color, trauma-informed care and wellness, among many others. We’re excited to welcome author Ashley C Ford as the keynote speaker, sharing her powerful story of resilience in the face of trauma, and guest artist Eric “Maserati E” Abercrombie for a musical performance. We’re inspired by the incredible work of Borealis Philanthropy in supporting grassroots organizations that are pushing for justice system reform. Seeing the heightened challenges faced by these organizations, especially during this election year, they launched a rapid response fund, raising over $400,000. This fund directly supports community groups focused on decarceration, closing jails, abolishing cash bail, and advancing revisions of pretrial justice in communities most impacted by incarceration. Check out their efforts and hear firsthand from community organizers on the frontlines leading this transformative work. https://buff.ly/4eoviuw #CommunitySolutions #Grassroots #SystemReform
