Earlier this month, Compass Lexecon proudly sponsored the inaugural Economic Impact Antitrust Summit, organised by The Economist. The event was a resounding success, featuring insightful discussions and engaging panel sessions. Below you'll find our key takeaways: 📈 Focus on growth: The emphasis is on expanding the economy rather than fairness or redistribution. ⚙️ Shift in industrial policy: National security and domestic champions now take precedence over globalisation. 🌍 Global regulatory divergence: Increasing policy variations across jurisdictions necessitate longer-term strategic planning. ⚖️ Stronger merger enforcement: Expect continued robust enforcement, with greater openness to remedies. 💡 Economic policy integration: Governments are prioritising growth and security, shaping the future of competition and antitrust frameworks.
