About us
Founded in 2000 by career energy professionals, Competitive Energy Services, LLC (CES) has been on the forefront of energy procurement since the advent of deregulation. Today, CES offers a broad variety of strategic energy management services which are unparalleled in the marketplace, including solar PV, net metering, cogeneration, demand response, fuel arbitrage, multi-fuel strategies, and demand management. Serving a diverse portfolio of clients from Atlantic Canada to California with energy and utility expenditures in excess of $2.0 billion, CES advises clients from every sector on the full range of energy market issues. This diversity of experience enables us to spot trends and cross-pollinate ideas more quickly than a traditional “brokerage” company. We offer the creativity and nimbleness of a boutique firm and the experience of thousands of energy market transactions. CES does not believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Each of our clients have different needs, goals and logistical requirements, and understanding these unique factors is at the foundation of our approach to energy management. Through partnership, we assess each aspect of the total picture, and it is from this base of understanding that we build each individual strategy. CES also brings a level of independence that many of our competitors are not able to offer. As a privately held firm with no affiliate relationships, we are always 100% commodity, supplier, and technology neutral, and put the interest of our clients first and foremost in the process. We are essential to the success of our clients, and have built our reputation on our unmatched experience, communication, and innovative thinking.

The three newest FERC members joined their peers at an October 17 public meeting to support the three Natural Gas Act certificate orders, which found that the project approvals would not constitute major federal actions significantly affecting the environment. Recently, Competitive Energy Services (CES) and our friends from L.L.Bean participated in the 21st annual Susan Curtis Golf Tournament, hosted by Camp Susan Curtis, whose founders believed that every child matters and deserves to know and realize their full potential. On Friday, September 27, Competitive Energy Services’ (CES) Sandy Beauregard, Director of Sustainability Services, will participate in a webinar panel discussion from 11:00 a.m. - Noon titled “Scope it Out – Greenhouse Gas Emissions Accounting” hosted by CLIMATEWORK MAINE’s Climate Connection Business Webinars. Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions accounting has emerged as an essential activity for sustainability-oriented business and individuals. It's important for both setting realistic goals and tracking progress toward those goals. In Scope it Out – Greenhouse Gas Emissions Accounting, the panel will review Scope 1 (direct emissions), Scope 2 (indirect emissions) and dive more deeply into Scope 3 emissions, which is by far the most challenging in that they are not produced by the company itself nor from assets owned or controlled by them, but instead are released up and down its value chain. The panel experts will cover the essentials of the accounting process and talk about various tools and services that are available for businesses and individuals. The Scope it Out – Greenhouse Gas Emissions Accounting panel includes: 💡 Sandy Beauregard, Director of Sustainability Services, Competitive Energy Services 💡 @Amber Bieg, Sustainability Consultant, Micron Corporation (INVITED) 💡 Ian Burnes, Director of Strategic Initiatives, Efficiency Maine Trust (TENTATIVE) 💡 John Gardner, Principal, Gardner Energy Strategies, LLC (MODERATOR) 💡 Luke Truman, Sustainability Coordinator, Craft Beverage Sector, New England Environmental Finance Center To Register https://lnkd.in/gW2teDCy Photo by Nina Callanan #CompetitiveEnergyServices #Sustainability #EnergyConsulting #Oil #NaturalGas #RenewableEnergy #Solar #Electricity #CESMarketSummary #CESInsider #CESInsights #Energy #EnergyMarkets #Commodities
