This October 13th (Sunday) the US Navy celebrates 249 years of sea power and force projection. Compotech, Inc. wishes all of our Sailors a very happy birthday. The Continental Navy was created to limit British sea control and disrupt the supply ships that carried munitions to the British Army in America. The Continental Navy was disbanded two years after the American Revolution, but Congress re-established the Navy in 1794 to protect American interests from piracy and rival powers. The Navy has grown to become the world's largest, most advanced, and most lethal fighting force. Today, the Navy maintains maritime order, builds infrastructure, and conducts humanitarian relief operations around the world. In 2025, the Navy and Marine Corps will celebrate their 250th birthday in Philadelphia.
