Computer Science Teachers Association reposted this
I had the joy of presenting to the CAL-MSCS Community of Practice meeting yesterday at Shasta High School and Sequoia Middle School! It was incredible to see Computer Science Teachers Association members in action, building meaningful computer science learning experiences for students. One highlight our CS Heroes activity being used "in the wild" - it’s always great to see our work make an impact in real classrooms! I shared our ReimaginingCS.org work with an amazing room of district leaders, school administrators, and classroom teachers from across CA who are all working together to reimagine CS pathways that prepare EVERY student for a world powered by computing. Given everything that is happening around us, it’s important to call out that all of this work is based on research funded by the National Science Foundation - a perfect example of how research drives meaningful classroom practice. A huge thank you to Caryn Lewis, Ed.D., Rod Garcia, and Josue Gaona at the Monterey County Office of Education for inviting me and always looking for meaningful collaboration across organizations. These partnerships are how we create lasting change in CS education!
