Founded in 1971, the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) was created to provide a forum for minority professionals in the transportation industry. COMTO's mission is to ensure opportunities and maximum participation in the transportation industry for minority individuals, businesses, and communities of color, through advocacy, information sharing, training, education, and professional development. MISSION COMTO provides opportunities in the transportation industry for minority participation and advancement, through advocacy, training, and professional development. VISION COMTO will serve as an advocate for minority inclusion in all aspects of the transportation industry.

Student Member Spotlight: James Nix BIM #Engineer #Intern | Project Engineering Intern Meet James Nix IV, a dedicated and ambitious student member of COMTO Atlanta with a passion for construction and transportation management. Currently, James is gaining invaluable experience as a BIM Engineer Intern at Turner Construction Company in Atlanta, GA. In this role, he utilizes tools such as Microsoft Office and Revit to support project planning and #execution, working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate BIM processes seamlessly on-site. Prior to this, James served as a Project Engineering Intern at Winter Construction, where he developed proficiency in #Bluebeam and #Procore. During this internship, he contributed to various phases of project development, ensuring that projects met stringent quality and safety standards. In addition to his engineering roles, James has hands-on experience in parking management from his time as a Parking Ambassador at Kennesaw State University. There, he managed parking lots and decks, maintained inventory of company materials, and provided exceptional customer service. With a diverse background in engineering and operations, James brings a unique perspective to project execution and resource management. He is passionate about leveraging technology to drive efficiency and innovation in the construction industry.
