When I heard the news that I'm being honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Texas Tech University School of Financial Planning, it immediately took me down a yellow brick road of reflection and gratitude. I've had a 19 year relationship with the financial planning and services profession and a 22 year relationship with TTU PFP. This recognition highlights the incredible journey I’ve had—pushing boundaries in my career, serving my profession (service, audiences, clients, students) and standing up for the future of financial planning. From receiving awards to leading initiatives, it’s been a privilege to give back to the profession and support the next generation of planners and help households achieve the life they want through financial education and advice. Huge thanks to my Texas Tech family, Eiman and Laith, my family, friends, colleagues, and everyone who has supported me on this path! Especially, thank you, God, for your belessings, grace, and mercy. Onward and upward! 🚀 #TexasTechPFP #DistinguishedAlumni #FinancialFuture

Are you overwhelmed by financial advice? 🤯 You're not alone! With so many tips and sources out there, it can be tough to figure out what’s best for you. Here are 3 simple ways to cut through the noise and avoid common mistakes! 👇🏾 1️⃣ Mix Up Your Info Sources: Don’t rely on just Reddit or social media for financial advice. 🌐 Cross-check tips with trusted sources like Investopedia or NerdWallet, and follow verified financial pros for balanced insights. ✔️ 2️⃣ Get Personalized Advice for Big Decisions: General advice doesn’t always fit your unique financial situation. 💼 When it comes to big moves like retirement or tax planning, consult a certified financial advisor who can tailor advice to your needs. 📝 3️⃣ Balance Learning and Doing: Don’t get stuck in “info overload!” 📚 Learn, but make sure you’re taking steps toward your goals too. Sometimes, too much information leads to no action at all. 🚀 Let's talk: Have you taken action on any financial advice you’ve learned recently?
