Nearly 25% of individuals who commit domestic violence-related murder-suicides are not legally barred from owning guns, and there is a concerning gap in gun control laws related to domestic violence. Despite having a history of violence or being under restraining orders, these perpetrators may still legally possess firearms due to loopholes and inconsistent enforcement of existing laws.
