"Then and Now", is a testament to Williams' remarkable career, which began on Chicago's Southside. From his early days as a young artist with a vision to create meaningful work, to his current status as a living master, Williams' art has consistently pierced the soul with raw, unbridled elegance. "Kevin A. Williams is a treasure," says [Gallery Director Rob McKay]. "His work not only celebrates the beauty and resilience of African-American life but also challenges us to confront the untold stories of our shared history." Through his art, Williams invites us to experience the multifaceted beauty, strength, and complexities of Black culture. His masterful approach, fusing realism with poignant storytelling, has cemented his position as one of the most important artists of our time. * Join Connect Gallery for an unforgettable evening with Kevin A. Williams as we celebrate his legacy and contributions to the art world. https://lnkd.in/gM4ptYs5

We merge community and culture, creating a space that inspires social innovation and inclusion through art.
About us
Connect started as a three-day pop-up art fair spanning the intersection of visual + performing art, designed objects, film, music, fashion and literary culture. Occupying three different exhibition spaces/storefronts in Downtown Hyde Park, Connect Art Fair included live performances, DJs, independent films, and pop up exhibitions, giving the audience an opportunity to explore, engage and connect with some of Chicago's leading artists, curators and art institutions within the burgeoning Hyde Park neighborhood. The pop-up fair attracted thousands of visitors and was recognized by The Chicago Reader as the "Best Public Art Fair" in Chicago. Following the success of the Connect Art Fair and our drive to present art as an agent for change we bring you the Connect Gallery in Hyde Park.

What a night it was ! Thank you all who came out to support and connect with us and the community in spotlighting Nigerian musicians and performers. It was a pleasure to host the Akojopo Music Foundation.
Thank you so much for attending our Taste of Nigeria event. Through your support, you helped us raise $746.37 at our very first fundraising event! Proceeds from this event will directly support our mission of promoting and integrating Pan-African art music globally, celebrating its cultural richness across diverse communities and diasporas. If you attended the event and would like to view all the photos here you go: https://lnkd.in/eSjsphCp We hope to see you at our upcoming summer concert: Àkójọpọ Presents: Aféfé Àjoyò, Live in Chicago
