It's the most wonderful time of the year. Help CWW Stuff the Sleigh for youth and young adults in foster care! Join us at 5:30 at Wasserhund Brewing Company on Laskin Rd. in Virginia Beach for great food, great beer, a variety of raffles and live music by Peter Pascanik. Don't forget to bring a new, unwrapped toy or gift card ($25+)--You will receive a raffle ticket for every toy or gift card you bring! Additional raffle tickets can be purchased. 25% of food sales during the event will be donated back to CWW. Thanks so much to Wasserhund for their continued support of foster youth and young adults in our region!

Foster Parents: Your Voice Requested! .. Graduate Intern Morgan Towe is requesting participation from foster and adoptive parents in a survey exploring the current level of knowledge that foster parents have in regards to emotional regulation, sensory modulation, and attachment dynamics. The hope for this survey is to advocate for more thorough training tailored to the needs of both foster parents and foster youth, as well as improved support in the future. This survey will close on November 15, 2024. Please visit https://lnkd.in/ebhSeJwd to participate today! .. #fosterparents #fostercare #survey #nonprofitcommunity #fostercarecommunity

On Thursday, September 12, The Eastern Region Kinship Roundtable Summit Planning Committee, in partnership with Kindred Resource Network, LLC, presented "Kinship Care: The Priority." This was the first Kinship Care Summit that brought together kinship caregivers, child welfare stakeholders, policy makers and advocates to discuss the priority of kinship care when children cannot remain with their biological parents. We are so thankful for the opportunity to network for shared success and learn more about kinship care. Our own Joy and Ralph Rios and Board member Flora Harris were speakers!

In partnership with Baby2Baby, Ticket to Dream Foundation provided CWW with a shipment of Infant & Baby Essentials to support our Essentials program! We received 4 boxes of Diaper Packs ranging in size from newborn to size 6 and 1 box of Assorted Baby Care (diapers, wipes, balm, etc). Thanks so much for supporting our mothers in foster care as they raise their own children, as well as helping CWW provide essentials to babies and infants being cared for by foster and kindship caregviers. .. #communitysupport #fostercare #nonprofitsupport #communitypartners #thankyou

Two weeks ago, the Virginia Beach Sheriff's Office graciously hosted Connect With A Wish, StandUp for Kids - Hampton Roads, and Delegate Anne Ferrell Tata for a tour of their administrative offices and the VB jail. Both our agencies work alongside (and are supported by) the sheriffs to uplift youth and young adults across Hampton Roads, and we are working diligently to protect and uplift the children of our region. Special thanks to Lieutenant Lois Thompson for inviting us and for showing us the offices. We are proud to work with you!
