We were truly touched by this heartfelt message, one of many we received from our customers over the weekend. It’s moments like these that make everything worthwhile 💙 It also inspired me to share some thoughts on business continuity, especially after the recent #Crowdstrike incident this past weekend. Over the past days, we've witnessed the global impact of the Crowdstrike crisis. Millions of organizations worldwide were suddenly forced into a complete shutdown. Entire organizations couldn't function because their computers weren't working, and they couldn't access employees' phone numbers or emails. Management teams struggled to communicate with employees, causing confusion, frustration, and significant financial losses. At Connecteam, we've supported many customers facing IT system difficulties, not just during this incident, but throughout the past year as cyber-attacks have increased. These events highlight the critical importance of robust business continuity plans. I wanted to share some insights on leveraging our platform for business continuity: 1) Expand Business Continuity Plans: While many organizations have a business continuity plan, incorporating scenarios for specific extreme situations has proven crucial: • Instances where your company’s communication systems (emails, phone systems, messaging tools) become unavailable • Company network outages due to cyberattacks or CrowdStrike-like cases • Scenarios where all your computing systems are unavailable for 24-48 hours 2) Establish Independent/Redundant Systems: Most organizations rely on a central core system, which, while beneficial, can become a single point of failure during crises, as we saw last week. We've seen that having Connecteam as an additional independent system serves as a crucial force multiplier in emergencies. This redundancy ensures that essential functions can continue uninterrupted even when the central system is down. 3) Ensure Accessibility of Business Continuity Plans: Our customers have beautifully organized their business continuity plans within their knowledge base within the Connecteam app, making them easily accessible. This approach ensures that procedures are always available, helping managers and employees operate consistently and according to the plan, creating order within the organization. 4) Establish a Communication Channel for the Response Team: The ability to quickly respond and communicate with decision-makers within the organization during a crisis is crucial.
