About us
Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo is the state's only zoo - providing wild experiences for more than 100 years. Visit more than 350 species of primarily North and South American animals, including Amur tiger and leopards, Brazilian ocelot, Mexican wolves, and golden Lion tamarins. Highlights include our new Andean bear habitat, spider monkey habitat, Natt Family Red Panda Habitat, South American rainforest with free-flight aviary, the prairie dog exhibit with "pop-up" viewing areas, the New England Farmyard with goats, cows, pigs, and other barnyard favorites, plus the hoofstock trail featuring bison, deer, and more.

News release: The America 250 CT Commission has approved 48 affiliate organizations in its first round of selections as it builds a network to plan programs and other activities connected to the 2026 anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Next deadline for applications is November 10. Affiliate organizations will have access to use the Commission’s logo on marketing materials and to promote 250th-related events on the Commission’s website, in newsletters, and through social media posts.
