“Sunny Daze Ahead: Girls Taking the Shot” was more than just a shooting skills clinic💪   Players were challenged to take risks—both on the court and in their daily lives—and to hold one another accountable in the process.   To keep the momentum going, our Community Relations and Youth Development team will be checking in with participants one month from now to see how they are following through with their shot, on and off the court. #BringTheHeat | #CTSunCommunity

Labors of Love: A Career Expo for High School Girls was a HUGE success! Eighty-five girls from across Central High School, Fairchild Wheeler, and Bullard Havens Technical School in Bridgeport, CT gathered for a day of connecting, learning, and building. The goal of LOL was to expose girls to pathways and careers that they never knew existed to maximize their chances of leading a successful and sustainable life. From the powerful panel highlighting women in machinery to the chat and chew catered by Bougie Bite, the girls were poured into and inspired to dream while putting the work in by local established women across various fields. Thank you to our partners Adam Scobie and Felisha Guirand Fleurimond of Connecticut State College’s (Housatonic) School of Manufacturing. Much gratitude for the teachers, counselors, and mentors who supported this event. You are appreciated.
