🎉 Congratulations to our high-impact portfolio manager Jenessa Mae Spears, MA and our amazing group of change-making collaborators for sharing Consilience Group’s person-centered approach to collaborative system improvements at the Association of Maternal & Child Health Programs (AMCHP) Annual Conference earlier this week. AMCHP is one of the largest gatherings of maternal and child health professionals in the United States. Jenessa moderated the panel, “How Tennessee is Sustaining Innovation: The Past, Present, and Future of Tennessee Early Connect” (TEC). This panel highlighted the Tennessee Department of Health’s (TDH’s) success with the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Innovation Award, which leveraged existing assets to strengthen partnerships and streamline referrals across state departments of health, human services and Medicaid (Tenncare). Team members Sandra Allen, Sarah Sanders, Laura Packard Tucker, Joana Rosales, and, Brad Blair from Tennessee Department of Health and Porter-Leath Early Success Coalition and Urban Institute shared key learnings and practical, replicable steps to increasing utilization and person-centered coordination across programs to have a greater impact. Early on during my time as the Founding Executive Director of MyCityRides, one of my jobs was managing our fleet of scooters. If a vehicle was unsteady, running inefficiently, or simply not moving as fast as it should, it was often simply out of alignment – the pieces were all there, but they might not be lined up and moving in sync. Whenever that happens with one piece of a complex system, all the pieces suffer, as do the people who depend on it. I’m all about growth and alignment has been my life’s purpose: focusing people and organizations around shared values so they make an impact. This is what I’ve done over the course of my career for companies like FedEx, ServiceMaster® Brands, and PeopleCap Advisors. It’s what I did for several years at MyCityRides. And it’s what makes me so excited to announce my next chapter: I’ve joined Consilience Group, LLC Group as its first Director of Innovation and Strategy. I was drawn to Consilience because we share a common philosophy about how organizations should work with people and for people. For more than 25 years, this team has been aligning public health systems, human services, and community-driven solutions to create healthier, stronger populations. At Consilience Group, person-centered care means aligning services around real people, not forcing them to fit into rigid, unresponsive systems. It’s about making sure that these systems achieve the impact they want, efficiently, methodically, and above all, sustainably. While we are proud to call Memphis our homebase, Consilience is now working in 19 states across the country helping a growing portfolio of forward-thinking businesses, health care systems, public sector agencies, and philanthropies.
