About us
Consumer Energy Alliance (CEA) brings together individuals and families with small businesses, manufacturers, farmers, labor and more to engage in a meaningful dialogue about America’s energy future. Our mission is to help ensure stable prices for consumers and improve energy security. We believe energy development impacts everyone, and thus it is necessary for all consumers to actively engage in the conversation about the importance of energy to our economy and how we develop and diversify our energy resources. CEA works to promote a thoughtful dialogue about policies that focus on an all-of-the-above, balanced outlook that can meet our nation’s environmental and conservation goals.

Nuclear energy continues to prove its indispensable role in providing reliable, affordable, and cleaner power. Thanks to new nuclear plants, Georgia has achieved a major milestone—clean energy now outpaces fossil fuels, reducing emissions and supporting grid reliability. This is a testament to the importance of permanent power sources like nuclear in keeping energy costs stable while cutting carbon emissions. Shout-out to CEA member Georgia Power Company for their leadership at the Vogtle plant in driving a #CleanerEnergyFuture! #EnergySecurity #NuclearEnergy #BaseloadPower #AffordableEnergy #GeorgiaPower

In a compelling op-ed for RealClearEnergy, Matthew Gonzales, CEA’s Southwest Executive Director, dissects California’s energy policy failures. Despite positioning itself as a leader, California now has the dubious distinction of having the highest gasoline, diesel, and electricity prices in the U.S. and beyond. Gonzales highlights the Golden State’s policy missteps and offers insights on how other states can avoid the same mistakes. It is no surprise that natural gas remains a vital resource for many communities, and preserving access to it is essential. Matthew Gonzales, CEA’s Southwest Executive Director, is advocating for a renewed push on gas ban preemption in New Mexico. With bipartisan support, this legislation aims to secure the energy needs of local communities. 'There’s a lot of people around the state that want their access to natural gas preserved,' Gonzales explains. Learn more about how statehouse elections could influence these efforts ⬇ #EnergyPolicy #NaturalGas #EnergyChoice #ConsumerAdvocacy #CleanEnergy

Great news for consumers and the Gulf Coast! Since 2021, Consumer Energy Alliance has been working with our energy-consuming and energy-producing members to find ways to keep energy affordable and reliable while we work to reduce emissions. Today's announcement from ExxonMobil's new Low Carbon Solutions investment in Louisiana will help decarbonize industries across Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas while supporting low-carbon job growth. Through their agreement with the NG3 project, they’ll store up to 1.2 million metric tons of CO2 annually, advancing cleaner energy for hard-to-decarbonize sectors like natural gas processing and steel. This initiative ensures a sustainable future while keeping energy reliable and affordable for consumers and securing jobs for these states' local communities. #LowCarbonSolutions #Sustainability #EnergyEvolution https://lnkd.in/gDWQyRMc
