Our very own Hannah Orlowski is helping to support the textile industry by participating in the NC State Wilson College of Textiles Dean's Young Alumni Leadership Council (DYLAC), an initiative focused on fostering leadership, innovation, and engagement within the textiles community. The council provides recent graduates with a platform to guide college programs, mentor students, and promote sustainable industry growth. Starting as a contract knitter, Contempora has evolved into one of the premier knit fabric manufacturers in the US. With over 200 machines and a capacity of 2 million pounds per month, Contempora has continued to expand to meet the needs of our customers. Our ability to offer contract knitting, greige packages and finished fabric allows us to work at all levels in the knit fabric supply chain.

The Americas Apparel Producers Network (AAPN) is hosting its sixth Carolina Mill Tour this week, starting today at Contempora Fabrics in #Lumberton, N.C. The tour, which includes 27 representatives from 11 brands and retailers, gives attendees a chance to get an up-close look at textile production facilities. Unifi Manufacturing, Inc. (makers of REPREVE® ), a major supplier to Contempora Fabrics, is also on hand to discuss their yarns and capabilities. The tour will visit HAMRICK MILLS and Parkdale Mills, Inc., both in #Gaffney, S.C., and Color Solutions International in #Charlotte, N.C., on Wednesday, and American & Efird in #MountHolly, N.C., Thursday. The barnstorming event showcased what is made in the Americas through each link of the textiles and apparel supply chain. Companies will explain their processes and offer some hands-on training in spinning, knitting, weaving and coloration.
