Last year, I had the pleasure and honor of being selected to participate in Leadership Fayette, sponsored by the Fayette Chamber of Commerce (GA). It is a cohort-driven program that gives leaders and executives across the county the opportunity to engage in #CommunityDevelopment , #BusinessDevelopment , #LocalAndStateGovernment , #VisioningForTheFuture and so much more, to drive awareness, social change. Last month, as our 9-Month journey ended, and our team was able to create and bring support, awareness, and funding to an important school in our community, The Joseph Sams School, that provides education, care and life skills for Disabled Children and their families. Parents of disabled children face such unique challenges that go far beyond the academic needs of their children. Many times, these children arent' able to work or engage in their communities after their primary education ends. There is so much #UntappedTalent . Our team was able to partner, bring awareness and identify funding that will help design #AdultCareAndLearningPrograms for the newly approved programs so desperately needed. Heartfelt thanks to the Executive Director of The Joseph Sams School, Amy Murray, and her esteemed team of administrators and teachers. Their dedication to the children and their families deserves all the medals and accolades we can offer! #ThankYou #Accessibility and #Inclusion looks different in every community. It's an honor to be part of the team that is building the bridge in ours. To the members of our team: Stacy Dyer, Reggie Roby, Taylor V. Pessin, Carleetha Character, CPM, Jeff Yost, and Marie Parker it's been an honor building relationship, ideating, and creating alongside you all. Thank you also to Cereto Bean, IOM, MAEd, MSLD, latricia hughes, Carrie Bittinger and Leonardo McClarty for your hard work and intention with the program. I'm excited about partnering with you all in the future to continue to grow and design the program! I look forward to supporting future cohorts, as Alumni.

March is the month of Spring, New Beginnings and it is often known for coming in like a Lion…and going out like a Lamb.   This month's episode of #ConvergingConversations brings together the beautiful collision of Work, Faith, Healing, and Laughter.   There is a beautiful thing that can happen when Faith, Identity and Work Collide.   Our guest, 🎤Sybil Stewart take us on a journey of learning, losing, loving (herself) and finding her way back to who she always was.   Sybil is the CEO and Founder of TheSageStewart and we had a great time talking about how she learned what it means for her to be a #Creator in every sense of the word.   Yeah, Spring was definitely the right time for this episode. 🎤Sybil Stewart, thank YOU for sharing the space and your story with me.   Join us…and listen in. - https://lnkd.in/gBYYMdtm   We are still talking about:   #ChangingLeadershipByChangingLeadership #InclusiveStories #MakingRoomForAll #WhenFaithAndWorkCollide #HealingJourneys

We've hit the end of February, and while the month has been short in many ways, it has not been short of (good) surprises.   In service of bringing meaningful stories, I had the best time with our most recent #ConvergingConversationsPodcast episode.   The goal is still to tell amazing stories…this one just happens to be #MyStory.   A few months back, a colleague/friend/sister reached out and shared valuable feedback with me and said "Hey! I love the podcast…BUT...I want to hear (more) from you. So, how do you feel about me interviewing you?"   I didn't hesitate to say yes…I jumped in with both feet.   In this episode, we turn the tables.   Our host, Susan Hill Edwards, Ph.D., is a sharp, supportive woman whom I've known for years now. As our relationship has grown, Susan continues to make me laugh, challenge me, ask me (the question lady!) the questions that provoke me, make me dig deep, and most importantly…Susan knows her craft. Susan is a change strategist and practitioner with an eye for detail, and a curiosity and appetite for learning. She's a Veteran, a Mom and a member of my tribe that I love to talk to.   As we get ready for Spring, it's time for something new.   Join us…and listen in. Episode details are in the comments.   We are still talking about:   #ChangingLeadershipByChangingLeadership #InclusiveStories #MakingRoomForAll #MakingRoomForME

"Authenticity is as individual as your fingerprint" - Dr. Oneka Jefferson-Cornelius.   It's taken me longer than I'd like, but (probably) exactly the time God knew I needed to embrace MY authenticity.   I love this quote from Oneka Cornelius during the LX23 panel on Unapologetically Leading - because it's a reminder that we can't put a one-size-fits-all definition on authenticity. When we do - it's fake, disingenuous, plus…it's boring!   Putting aside the opinions of others, societal norms of career trajectory, and success - how are you planning to live more authentically in 2024?   I'll go first :)   Here are (24 ironically unplanned) mantras and reminders I journaled from my flight back to D.C from Cali last week:   2024 Mantras:   I am a creative. I magnify energy. I prioritize my energy. I can change my mind. I balance un-scheduling.  I live in a space of gratitude. I am creative and not competitive. I do not overextend myself for others. I am multi-talented & multi-passionate. I move at my own pace, unapologetically. I make life decisions for ME unapologetically. I am a master pivoter; it is my gift and part of my journey.   2024 Reminders:   People will always see things in you that you don't see - take the compliment. There are no boundaries to failure. Fail fast and fail forward. Rest is required physically, emotionally, and mentally. Compassion pays dividends that your eyes can't see. People won't understand you, and that's okay. Integrity will never-eva-eva go out of style. Only some ideas need to be acted upon. Life is full of risks - be tenacious. Everything is figure-out-able. Intuition whispers; fear yells. Don't worry about the how. Sensitivity is a gift.   Do any of these align with your view for 2024? Sound off in the comments!    #intentionalliving #intentionalleadership #authenticity #authenticself #authenticleadership #mantras #2024goals #2024planning
