After meeting the immediate needs of relief work, Convoy of Hope works with those impacted to find sustainable solutions for the long haul. One of those aspects — our Agriculture training and resources — is able to provide for families not just in the immediate aftermath, but for generations to come. A team of Convoy staff members is on a mission to raise awareness for that programming, one mile at a time. Here's Convoy team member and former NFL tight end Vance McDonald with a sneak peek at what's happening this weekend. 🌽 🏃♂️ To team up with Convoy to train and resource farmers all over the world — and plant your very own garden in the process — visit https://lnkd.in/gEiFHKFc. #convoyrunsforag

A driving passion to feed the world
About us
Convoy of Hope is a faith-based, nonprofit organization with a driving passion to feed the world through children’s feeding initiatives, community outreaches and disaster response. As a faith-based, international, humanitarian-relief organization strategically based in Springfield, Missouri — the crossroads of America — our goal is to bring help and hope to those who are impoverished, hungry and hurting. Convoy of Hope was founded in 1994 by the Donaldson family. Their inspiration for starting the organization can be traced back to the many people who helped their family after their father, Harold, was killed by a drunk driver in 1969. Today, more than 70 million people have been served throughout the world by Convoy of Hope. We are proud that we work through churches, businesses, government agencies and other nonprofits to provide help and hope to those who are impoverished, hungry and hurting.

Three weeks have passed since #HurricaneHelene made landfall, but Convoy's recovery efforts have only begun. This week we're focusing on how support from volunteers, partner organizations, and even marathon runners helps Convoy serve more people in sustainable ways. Also, thank you for your continued support and prayers for our team members in the field as they respond to the hurricanes. Visit convoyofhope.org to learn more. A hope-filled delivery ♥️ As Floridians are recovering from back-to-back hurricanes, Convoy of Hope is doing mobile distributions to areas affected to bring some relief in the form of food, hygiene kits, cleaning products, and other essential supplies. Watch this heartfelt interaction with one of our disaster team volunteers in Palmetto, Florida. 👇 Give to our ongoing response to Helene at https://h.ope.is/3Yr59pq and to our Milton response at https://h.ope.is/4f5uURz. #hurricanehelene #hurricanemilton #disasterresponse

When news cycles move on, Convoy of Hope is still on the ground in disaster zones, serving communities in need. 📦🚚 For those in North Carolina, which was hit especially hard by #HurricaneHelene, many are without power, entire communities are washed away, and they are vulnerable for the winter ahead. In cooperation with the Spruce Pine Fire Department, Convoy has delivered generators for the elderly and those who do not have access to shelters. Drive-thru distributions are still underway. Also, Convoy has served families through mobile distributions — in Morganton, North Carolina, volunteers from local churches drove to mountainside locations to get supplies to families in need. “I thank God for Convoy of Hope because you were the first organization we saw on that Monday [after the storm],” said Pastor John White. Nearly 350,000 people are still without power in Florida. For those who lost power to their homes and businesses during #HurricaneMilton, that’s five days without electricity. When a disaster like Milton knocks out power and water, food and water are huge needs in communities. Convoy of Hope is on the ground in Florida, distributing ready-to-eat meals, groceries, water, hygiene supplies, and more to people in need. Convoy is also sending loads of relief supplies to partners all over the state so they have resources to better serve their communities. Convoy of Hope is on the ground in Sarasota, Florida, working with church partners and local emergency management to serve those affected by #HurricaneMilton. We have resourced several partners across the state with relief supplies to distribute to communities. Back-to-back hurricanes — including #HurricaneHelene — left Floridians and nearby states reeling, but Convoy is there both in the immediate aftermath and for the long haul. Last night, #HurricaneMilton made landfall as a Category 3 hurricane in Siesta Key, sparing Tampa the direct hit. Milton brought treacherous sustained winds of 120 mph and 8 to 10 feet of storm surge in Sarasota County. But Convoy is on the ground in Florida prepared with supplies. Volunteers from the Perry, Florida, community packed more than 3,000 bags of groceries, and additional vehicles were deployed a few days prior from Convoy's World Distribution Center to be ready for distributions. Convoy is there to help ensure those impacted have what they need to begin recovering from these disastrous storms.
