Our thoughts and prayers are with Holston Electric Cooperative (TN) and the family of their recently lost employee. This tragic loss leaves yet another cooperative child without a mother. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends, and colleagues impacted directly by this loss, and we are currently working to provide support. #CoopFamily #support #coopfamilyfund #cooperativecaring

The first year of service and support to the children and families of fallen electric cooperative employees validated that the work we do matters. To get a better understanding of the impact that CFF, along with our many supporters, had on the many families struck with tragedy during 2023, please take a moment to review our 2023 Annual Report. We thank you for understanding the importance of CFF's mission and continuing to answer the call to support cooperative families during their darkest hours. https://lnkd.in/gHKX4_Un

Thank you for your #support of our efforts and CFF volunteers, Texas! #coopfamilyfund
If you know me, I’m passionate about the electric cooperative industry and advocate for its mission and the groups that support it. Today I was completely surprised and received the honorary lifetime member award from the Texas Rural Electric Women’s Association (TREWA). This group of ladies works hard to raise money to support Youth Tour, government relations/legislative efforts, and scholarships each year. This year, they are also supporting the Cooperative Family Fund. All of these programs are near and dear to my heart, so it’s always easy to spend some time to make goodies for TREWA’s auction and market sales.

Sending many thoughts and prayers to our friends at Appalachian EC in TN who lost one of their linemen today. We will be reaching out with support but know it will never replace this lineworker and member of the #cooperative family. “AEC is a close-knit organization that doesn’t just provide power to our members and the community, we’re part of the community. Today, we lost one of our fellow AEC Family Members and this tragedy is felt by everyone.” said Josh Compton, AEC’s General Manager. “Working as a lineman is a respectable and honorable profession. We mourn the loss of our colleague during this incredibly difficult time. Their family is in our thoughts and prayers.” #coopfamilyfund #support

A heartfelt thank you to all who participated in this event #support #coopfamilyfund
On July 10, we hosted our first charity golf outing with 120 golfers in Okoboji ahead of our summer conference for electric co-op managers and board presidents. Through proceeds from golfer registrations, generous vendor sponsorships and personal contributions, we raised $3,200 for the Cooperative Family Fund. The Cooperative Family Fund was established in 2022 to provide support for children of electric cooperative employees when they experience the loss of a parent while actively employed at a cooperative. IAEC EVP Chuck Soderberg is pictured with Hollee McCormick of Allamakee-Clayton Electric Cooperative, one of the first cooperatives to utilize services of the Cooperative Family Fund after an employee's death in a tragic car accident in 2022.
