Exciting times in Camden! Yesterday, we celebrated the grand opening of the revitalized basketball court at Farnham Park in the Parkside community. To kick off the celebration, youth from the Camden County Police Department's Village Initiative put their skills to the test with some drills and a friendly game. This exciting project was made possible thanks to a generous grant from the Sixers Youth Foundation and the Philadelphia 76ers. #CamdenParks #Sixers #Teamcamden #2024projects

  • One year of excellent service to the Camden community! This CCP and VIA-driven program implements a brand-new transportation option to meet the needs of Camden residents accessing employment within the City. It provides efficient connections to public transit options, including NJ TRANSIT bus, rail, light rail, and DRPA PATCO commuter services. Additionally, the program aims to enhance transportation access for Camden residents to other social determinants of health needs, such as healthcare appointments, food access, and similar services. The EMR USA team had an amazing time attending the Peace Games event organized by Camden County in collaboration with Camden Community Partnerships, the City of Camden Mayor's Office and PARK (Providing Alternative Recreation for Kids). It was truly inspiring to see our community come together for a day of unity, fun, and positive action. Of course, the main event was the two-day basketball tournament that saw over 200 athletes showcase both their talent and their sportsmanship! We were thrilled to be invited back for a second year and are proud to have contributed $5,000 to support this event and its mission of promoting peace and community engagement. From the interactive games to the meaningful conversations, every moment was a testament to the power of coming together for a common cause. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day so special. We look forward to continuing our efforts in supporting such impactful initiatives. #EMRUSA #PeaceGames #Community

  • Over the past weekend, Camden Community Partnership hosted the 8th Annual Camden Peace Games in collaboration with Mayor Carstarphen and our valued partners. The event featured a basketball tournament and family-friendly activities such as a D.J., face painting, a bounce house, free food, giveaways, and more, all provided free of charge for community members. Attendees also had the opportunity to learn about various community resource organizations and their programs.  🏀 A huge shout out to the youth, families, coaches, and volunteers who came out for two days of nonstop action and excitement. Congratulations to Kipp High School and Team Don Polk, the champions of the 2024 Peace Games! 🏆 The 2024 Camden Peace Games was made possible through the support of various partner organizations, including the City of Camden, Camden Community Partnership, Camden County Metro Police Department, Camden County Parks Department, William Penn Foundation, E.M.R., Suburban Disposal, Seaside Waste Services, Philadelphia 76ers, Campbell’s Soup Company, The Michaels Organization, Volunteers of America Delaware Valley, CAMcare Health Corporation, Camden Special Services District, American Water and the American Water Charitable Foundation, The War Room, Parents Invincible – and anchored by P.A.R.K., a team of Camden residents dedicated to fostering positive relations with local youth. #Communityengagement #Connectthelots #Youthactivities

  • Yesterday, Camden Mayor Victor G. Carstarphen officially announced the return of the 8th Annual Camden Peace Games that will take place this weekend, Saturday, July 27, and Sunday, July 28, in Von Nieda Park, located in the city's Cramer Hill neighborhood (North 29th Street and Pierce Avenue). In attendance were Camden County Commissioner Al Dyer, Council President Angel Fuentes, Philadelphia 76ers legend World B. Free, Glen M. Jackson, President of P.A.R.K. C.M.D. (Providing Alternate Resources for Kids), and representatives from Camden Community Partnership (C.C.P.).  The Camden Peace Games are a free, co-ed basketball tournament open to local youth. They aim to use sports as a way to build community and encourage park stewardship among local youth, promoting peace, community, and unity among neighbors in Camden and beyond. Camden Mayor Victor G. Carstarphen commented, "This weekend will highlight one of my favorite events of the year: the 2024 Camden Peace Games. It's an excellent opportunity to celebrate our young athletes' talents while strengthening our community's bond." The Camden Peace Games exemplify cooperation among community leaders, local organizations, private institutions, and government, all coming together to support Camden's youth and families. Whether participating as a player or simply seeking a fun family outing, everyone is encouraged to join at this year's Camden Peace Games!
