#HVACR apprentices across Australia have gained CO2 safety, repair, and service skills through the Kirby HVACR Apprentice Fund CO2 Scholarship program. Markham District Energy (MDE), Canada's fastest-growing district energy utility, has selected Copeland's Vilter VQ95 industrial heat pumps to power their wastewater energy transfer (WET) facility. The world's largest, MDE's facility is located in their Low Carbon Energy Centre in downtown Markham in Ontario, Canada. Copeland and MDE are driving the energy transition through an innovative design that utilizes Vilter single screw technology. The project, developed to reduce carbon emissions from thermal energy production, underscores MDE's commitment to sustainable energy solutions and highlights Copeland's leadership in advanced heat pump technology. Copeland's safety record is more than 3X better than the average of the industries in which we operate. Our manufacturing facility in Rayong, Thailand, is a shining example of this exemplary safety record, having recently reached 10 million hours without lost time. Darel Callis, chief operating officer for Copeland, recently visited the Rayong facility to celebrate this remarkable achievement and receive the 2023 Safety Award. At the event, Darel highlighted how Copeland's innovations help create a world that places safety, well-being, and sustainability at the forefront.
