Remember the anticipation that you felt when a new school year was about to begin? Whether it was excitement, joy, or a touch of nervousness, that feeling marked the start of new opportunities for goal setting and growth. At cor, the first day of school symbolizes a fresh start and a chance to make meaningful progress toward our goals. In our latest newsletter, we’re excited to share a resource designed to help students craft their own Student Leader Profile—our take on the traditional Learner Profile. This tool empowers students to lead with confidence and develop a strong sense of self as learners. #loveschool #startofschool #goals #growth #corevalues #studentleaderprofile #learnerprofile

Lesson planning can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially when it comes to ensuring that every lesson is engaging, effective, and inquiry-driven. Educators often face the challenge of balancing content delivery with the need to create a dynamic learning environment that develops skills and meets the needs of all students. While launching the first unit of the Investigating History (IH) curriculum with the middle school team at Dover-Sherborn, we introduced the Investigating History curriculum’s Lesson Internalization Map as a resource to help teachers deeply understand and absorb the lessons that they will be teaching. 6th and 7th grade teachers focused on internalizing a lesson from Unit 1, exploring the differences between this new internalization approach and their previous planning methods, while also prioritizing new planning routines as they move to fully adopt the IH curriculum. If you're interested in adopting this free, comprehensive, authentic, inquiry-and skills-based curriculum which is fully aligned to the 2018 Massachusetts History/Social Science Framework, let’s connect. #loveschool #investigatinghistory #curriculumlaunch #inquiry #workshops #professionaldevelopment #lessonplanning #lessoninternalization #culturallyresponsiveteaching #connection #corevalues #partnership

A lot of us are scared of AI. To take some of the fear out of it, at cor creative partners we model using some concrete AI prompts in our trainings. Consider a spin on the classic game "Two Truths and a Lie." We call it "Two Truths and an AI." Ask participants of your meeting or your class to come up with two true facts about themselves, and then ask AI to complete the task using the prompt "Create a lie I can use for the game Two Truths and a Lie". Then play the game as usual and see if you can spot the "AI." Can you spot mine? We have found that this exercise provides participants the opportunity to get to know each other while also having a safe space to play around with and discuss AI technology. Thank you to Elisa MacDonald for featuring this prompt in her recent edition of The Morning Spark! It was a pleasure to continue the work with St. Mary of the Assumption School. Teachers are back at school this week for busy days of professional development and planning! Pre-grade 8 lead teachers participated in a PD session led by Sarah Riemens and Andrew Rocca from cor creative partners entitled Curriculum Planning and Responsive Teaching. Faculty and staff continued to work on a multi-year curriculum mapping project, specifically scoping and sequencing the math curriculum at all grade levels. Teachers will continue the process with our Instructional Leadership Team throughout the year! Pre-K and K1 lead teachers and aides met with our Director of Early Childhood Education, Suzette Torres-Perrier, to learn about updates to our Program, including the addition of Infant and Toddler classrooms, and to discuss scheduling, curriculum, and important regulations. Our new mentor teacher team for the 2024-2025 launched today! New homeroom teachers were paired with mentor teachers to plan for the school year, which will include monthly check-ins and observation and feedback meetings. New teachers also received an orientation and learned about the day to day life at St. Mary's for faculty, staff, students, and families!

We are so grateful to be doing work that feels so meaningful to us with such a wonderful team!
Last week, Maureen Chapman and I submitted the rough manuscript for our book on teaching leadership skills through authentic academic work. Led by the amazing Sarah Riemens, our team also launched our Summer Institute supporting Investigating History. This no-cost curriculum enables students to build the conditions, the beliefs, the habits, and the skills needed to become leaders in the classroom. In our trainings, as in our book, we focus on the importance of psychological safety, appropriate challenge, and academic risk-taking anchored in the understanding that we cannot learn and cannot lead without engaging in courageous, collaborative creativity and critical thinking. #investigatinghistory #leadership Zane Ranney Andrew Rocca Gia Higgins

Educators at Our Sisters' School provide learners with an environment in which they can be bold changemakers. The students literally go sailing on the boats they themselves made. When you talk to the students, they tell you their voice matters. When you talk to the educators, they tell you the students' voice matters. Our core values at cor creative partners are Connection, Creativity, Curiosity, Equity, and Excellence. In this partnership, we feel fully aligned with our values.
