Hi there! Last Thursday I had the amazing opportunity to visit the Yesler Terrace 6.1b (Swell apts) in a construction visit, courtesy of GGLO Design! 🥳 Located near First Hill in Seattle, this project was first part of a master plan which included landscape design and planning. The construction has been developed mostly in wood-framing, as you can see in the pictures. It has reached a certain level of completion, so we were able to visit some units, understand the materials and their key role for the façade work. The Yesler Terrace building has incorporated the Purple Roof system, which optimizes stormwater retention and is pioneering detention in vegetated and non-vegetated roof coverings! 🤓 Also, the design work includes an art mural, signature of an Oregon’s artist, which unfortunately I can’t remember but certainly looks awesome. 🦋 It’s always a pleasure to see when designers do amazing jobs integrating both nature and architecture. 🫶🏼 I’m looking forward to more of these experiences, thanks to Corbis & GGLO Design for the opportunity!

Here's a quick rundown of the day 2 at AIA24 🤜🤛      A keynote presentation began the day. Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN's Chief Medical Correspondent, gave an insightful opening speech. His input on dealing with the complexity of health and medical information in the modern world was valuable.  😀    HSK's booth was transformed into an immersive "open studio tour," offering a behind-the-scenes look at their design philosophy, and we couldn't miss it! We discovered the values that underpin their work, explored the spaces they create, and got inspired by their creative process. 🎇✨  The conference was the best spot for connecting with colleagues and business leaders, just like on day one.
