The last eight weeks have been a whirlwind of conferences and events, including the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), Maryland Association of Counties (MACo) conference, Council of State Governments (CSG), Democratic National Convention (DNC), and the Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference (CBC-ALC). I’ve almost recovered—just in time for the Maryland Legislative Black Caucus Weekend, and the National Black Conference of State Legislatures (NBCSL) later this year. At each of these conferences, my Cornerstone Government Affairs colleagues and I had the pleasure of supporting clients by making key introductions, setting up meetings, and providing strategic advice. Conferences offer a unique opportunity to serve clients and connect with decision-makers in a relaxed setting, fostering deeper relationships and valuable insights for future collaboration. While attending these events, we hosted and supported several exceptional gatherings. At the DNC, for example, our events included a Luncheon with DNC Chair Jamie Harrison, a Reception honoring ED Alex Hornbrook, the Friends of the Firm Luncheon, a Welcome Reception honoring the Delaware delegation, a Luncheon with Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford, a Happy Hour with Gov. Wes Moore, and the Tunica-Biloxi's Chicago Branch Office Reception. Last week, Cornerstone hosted our fourth annual reception honoring Black staffers and appointees on Capitol Hill and within the Administration, marking the 53rd anniversary of the CBC-ALC. After the reception, we co-sponsored a debate watch party at The Park. Cornerstone also co-sponsored several other events during CBC-ALC, including the Taste of Memphis Reception, the Texas Party, and the Black Professionals in International Affairs (BPIA) Jazz Brunch. While there were many more events I couldn’t attend personally, Cornerstone’s reach is vast, spanning key conferences across the country and delivering unparalleled value to our clients. By engaging directly with decision-makers, we ensure that our clients’ voices are heard and their goals supported. Whether through hosting impactful events or facilitating meaningful introductions, Cornerstone leverages every opportunity to strengthen relationships and provide strategic insights that drive success. Our presence at these major gatherings underscores our firm’s commitment to staying at the forefront of legislative and policy discussions while delivering exceptional service in every setting.

It was an honor to represent Cornerstone Government Affairs and Sustainability & Energy Value Advisors, and on behalf of Nuclear Energy Institute by leading an excellent panel discussion at the Energy Workforce & Technology Council Technology Summit with Nick Morriss, Director of Business Development, Shepherd Power, Reed Clay, President, Texas Nuclear Alliance, Matthew Guyton, Director, Energy & Power, Piper Sandler, and Douglass Robison, Founder and President, Natura Resources. The panel focused on the Nuclear & OFS Nexus we are seeing in Texas and the opportunities this presents moving forward. My colleague Brent Greenfield and I were able to help plan and attend this excellent event focused on carbon capture and storage, emissions monitoring and mitigation and nuclear energy. #oilfield services #nuclear energy
