At this year's Corning Technology Day, we're excited to uncover, break down, and discuss the innovative solutions Corning has developed for the future. We're especially honored to have key executives from the hashtag #SingaporeEconomicDevelopmentBoard and the hashtag #AmericanChamberofCommerce join us for a panel discussion on the future of innovation in the region. Their insights and support have been instrumental in shaping Corning's success in Southeast Asia. Following the panel, attendees will dive into four breakout sessions, each focusing on a different facet of Corning's expertise-from life sciences to advanced optics and optical communications. As we celebrate 50 years in Singapore, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to our partners, customers, and employees who have been part of this incredible journey. “At Corning, we walk the talk in practicing the importance of work-life balance, encouraging the employees to venture in activities beyond the professional realm. I learned how to cycle in Corning after 28 years!”   Ying Ying serves as a Client Account & Business Development Manager. She is responsible for the management and expansion of predominantly Gorilla Glass business in SEA (outside of Vietnam), handling new business leads and key accounts. Apart from that, she is constantly on the lookout for potential business development opportunities for other MAPs and product portfolios in the region.   “The key driver for me at work is really the satisfaction that I get from completing an NPI project; not just the fact that we managed to bring in more numbers for the company, but also, enjoying the fruit of labor with our team collaboration.”   Ying Ying resonates strongly with “Innovation”.   To her, being in Southeast Asia, a region with budding business growth, it is essential to break out of convention to seize new business opportunities. Celebrating Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the Enabling Village!   Corning Singapore team had the privilege of visiting the Enabling Village, the first inclusive community space in Singapore dedicated to integrating persons with disabilities into society. This visit was a highlight of our Corning DE&I Festival in Singapore, and it was an incredibly insightful and enriching experience for all of us.   Special shout out to Joanne T. , our amazing docent guide on wheelchair, who led us through this pioneering space. We learned about the diverse needs of individuals with physical, sensory, and intellectual disabilities, as well as autism. Joanne's guidance and expertise truly opened our eyes to the many "firsts" that make the Enabling Village a shining example of an inclusive community.   Our team walked away with a deeper understanding of the initiatives and progress being made towards fostering greater inclusion in Singapore. 🌟 Empowering Futures: a day of fun & learning for our next generation at Corning 🌟   We recently hosted an incredible event, Empowering Futures, where we invited our employees' children, nieces & nephews to explore and learn more about the exciting world of Corning! The event was a fantastic opportunity for the kids to understand the innovative work we do and get a glimpse into our dynamic work environment.   At the COC (Corning Optical Communications) interactive booth, the children had hands-on fun learning about key physics principles such as reflection, refraction, and total internal reflection. They were amazed to see these concepts in action through our cutting-edge optical communication technologies.   Meanwhile, at the CLS (Corning Life Sciences) booth, the kids discovered how Corning products help scientists in pharmaceutical and life sciences industries develop new treatments for some of the world’s most complicated diseases. It was a truly eye-opening experience for them to see the real-world impact of scientific advancements.   Our children also got a glimpse into our work environment and roles, understanding what their parents / uncles / aunties do. Our business speakers shared insights on sales careers, the excitement of technical jobs, and valuable tips & advice on pursuing future academic opportunities, including the journey to attaining a PhD.   It was heartwarming to see the children engaged, learning and having fun.   Empowering Futures was not just about showcasing what we do; it was about investing in the future talents of Singapore and fostering a sense of curiosity and innovation among the young generation.
