The Next Generation: African-Led Development
About us
CorpsAfrica is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2011 by a former Peace Corps Volunteer seeking to recognize and build on Peace Corps's enormous success by offering the same transformative experience to emerging leaders in Africa - giving them the chance to be a part of the solution for their own countries. CorpsAfrica applies the newest and best approaches to international development, including empowering local communities, promoting collaboration among NGOs and our development partners, monitoring and impact evaluation. We recruit men and women to move to high-poverty communities within their own countries for a year and initiate projects that fulfill key needs in their communities and whose impact and success can be carefully measured and monitored. CorpsAfrica started in Morocco and has expanded Senegal, Malawi, and Rwanda.

Big congratulations to the incredible community members of #LigbaGhana for coming together with the support of our CorpsAfrica/Ghana Volunteer Awal Nihad, to furnish their school with brand new desks! 🎉🪑 Now, students can focus on their studies in a more comfortable and conducive environment. This is what community-led development looks like—working hand-in-hand to create lasting impact! 💪✨ #ThisIsCorpsAfrica #AfricanCommunities #africanvolunteers #ligba

#ThisIsCorpsAfrica #CommunautesAfricaines_VolontairesAfricains_ImpactsDurables

Meet CorpsAfrica Alumni Network Fatiha Tachakourt Fatiha Tachakourt applied for and received a WORLD CONNECT grant to spearhead a community project focused on equipping a drinking water well. But her impact didn’t stop there. Fatiha also dedicated herself to empowering 25 women through a 3-month program of soft skills workshops. As a result of her efforts, these women emerged empowered, ready to kickstart a female cooperative for local handicrafts. Read more about Fatiha Tachakourt on our website.
