The CDU is responsible for preventing and controlling the spread of infectious diseases like Salmonellosis, E. coli infections, influenza, COVID-19, whooping cough, West Nile Virus, chlamydia, and gonorrhea. The CDU CSA IV will work under the direction of the Supervising Public Health Nurse to coordinate CSA assignments, collect and document health and exposure information, deliver health education, collect and transport biological specimens, and provide translation and interpretation services. The CSA IV will work closely with other public health professionals, the public, community service organizations, and medical professionals to coordinate public health and health services by conducting home visits, visiting medical and laboratory facilities, and attending community events. The Public Health Emergency Preparedness Program engages in collaborative, community focused emergency health planning to address biological, chemical, radiological, or natural disaster events that result in public health threats or emergencies. The PHEP Chronic Disease Prevention Coordinator leads local efforts to increase health care and public health capacity to plan, prepare, respond to, and recover from broad range of public health threats. Additional duties include developing grant budgets and scopes of work, monitoring expenditures, and drafting reports. The Human Immunodeficiency Virus Program coordinates surveillance, prevention, and care services for individuals living with or at risk for HIV, sexually transmitted disease, and hepatitis C virus infections. The program also promotes risk reduction behaviors and engages the community to develop and strengthen systems. Additional duties include developing grant budgets and scopes of work, monitoring expenditures, and drafting reports. The Nutrition Case Management program in the Monterey County Health Department Public Health Bureau, provides support to clients and their families who have weight management, chronic disease, and related dietary concerns. As Registered Dieticians, the Public Health Nutritionists II assess clients’ nutritional concerns and needs, and work with their clients to set their personal health goals related to nutrition through home visitation and/or telehealth appointments. Services focus on Medi-Cal clients across the age span but prioritize children. Assistance is given on management of pre-diabetes, diabetes, and gestational diabetes management; as well as obesity, dyslipidemia and altered eating patterns related to social, environmental, and behavioral factors. Additionally, participants in the program are referred to resources including but not limited to food, dental, activity, housing, emotional and social support that may be needed. County of Monterey Health Department (MCHD) is seeking applicants for an Accountant I position for the Environmental Health Bureau. The individual will be responsible various financial tasks, including monitoring, analyzing, reconciling, and verifying financial records. The Accountant I will complete and oversee grant invoicing and assist with grant budget preparation and prepare income and expenditure projections. In addition to assisting with various budget tasks, including forecast, narrative, financial, statistical, and budgetary reports, statements, and records utilizing GAAP; and other duties as required. The Monterey County Water Resources Agency (MCWRA) is an independent, special purpose public agency staffed with dedicated employees and focused on flood control and water resources management in Monterey County. The Agency was created via a California Water Code Appendix in a statute known as the Monterey County Water Resources Agency Act. The Agency provides the following services: control of flood and storm waters in the County, water conservation, protection of water quality, reclamation of water and the exchange of water. Fundamental to the agency’s mission to sustainably manage water resources while minimizing impacts from flooding, the MCWRA owns and operates the Nacimiento and San Antonio reservoirs and dams, a hydroelectric facility at Nacimiento Reservoir, and numerous other facilities.
