  • Tickets on sale now! “Therapist Night Live" is an event where the therapists from Courageous Healing, Inc. will facilitate an open conversation for the community. This event is designed to create a safe and inclusive space where participants can engage with therapists, asking general questions about life, mental health, and therapy. Although this is NOT THERAPY, this is an opportunity for us as a community to begin having open dialogue about common themes. The goal is to provide accessible mental health insights, foster community dialogue, and break down barriers to seeking professional help, normalizing healing conversations. Additionally, the event will feature healing artwork on display and music from Music Lover's Lounge DJs to enhance the atmosphere and create a holistic, uplifting experience. All proceeds from the event will go toward providing scholarships for community members who cannot afford the cost of therapy services, making mental health care more accessible for all. https://lnkd.in/g_cjeZFg

  • Huge thanks to the team at Kekionga Middle School, Denita Washington, and the team at Fort Wayne Community Schools for inviting Courageous Healing, Inc. Co-founders Aaron Lane, MSOL, LSW and Janell Lane, MA, LMHC to be "Principals For the Day." Hearing directly from young people about the present-day challenges that youth face, needs they have, and talents they possess will make us better community partners, supporters, and advocates. Keep up the great work!

  • Holding Space and Showing Gratitude for Indigenous Peoples As we navigate the complexities of our world today, it’s crucial to pause and reflect on the invaluable contributions of Indigenous peoples. Holding space for their voices and experiences is not just an act of respect but also a necessary step towards healing and understanding. What Does It Mean to Hold Space? Holding space means creating a supportive environment where individuals can express themselves freely without judgment. For Indigenous communities, this involves recognizing their histories, cultures, and the ongoing struggles they face. It requires us to listen deeply, learn continuously, and acknowledge the wisdom that Indigenous peoples bring to the table. Acknowledging Contributions Indigenous peoples have made profound contributions to society, from environmental stewardship to art, philosophy, and community resilience. Their traditional ecological knowledge offers insights into sustainable living that can help address the current environmental crises. Celebrating Indigenous achievements in these areas is vital for fostering respect and appreciation. Gratitude as a Practice Expressing gratitude for Indigenous contributions can take many forms: 1. Education: Seek out and share resources that highlight Indigenous histories and achievements. Educate yourself and others about the cultures and practices that have shaped our world. 2. Support: Amplify Indigenous voices and support Indigenous-led initiatives. Whether it’s through advocacy, purchasing from Indigenous businesses, or participating in community events, every action counts. 3. Reflection: Take time to reflect on your relationship with the land and the Indigenous communities connected to it. Recognize the ongoing impact of colonization and commit to being part of the solution. 4. Engagement: Build relationships with Indigenous communities. Attend cultural events, listen to their stories, and engage in dialogue. This fosters understanding and mutual respect. Moving Forward Together As we hold space for Indigenous peoples, let us cultivate a culture of gratitude that honors their resilience and contributions. This is not just a moment in time, but an ongoing commitment to justice, equity, and recognition. In celebrating Indigenous peoples, we enrich our own lives and pave the way for a more inclusive and respectful future. Let’s stand together, learn from one another, and create a world where all voices are valued and heard.
