Is a Text a Writing? How This Impacts Your Business In today's fast-paced world, text messages are increasingly used for project communication, including approvals and change orders. But are these texts legally considered "in writing"? This question is vital for businesses we insure, as it affects the enforceability of contracts and notices. The Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA) suggests texts may qualify as a written record, but the application is case-specific. Businesses must ensure all parties agree to electronic transactions to avoid disputes. Stay informed and make sure your contracts clearly define acceptable forms of communication. At CoVerica, we're here to help you navigate these complexities. 🔗 Read more: https://lnkd.in/gYCMdFhF #BusinessCommunication #ConstructionLaw #ContractManagement #CoVerica #InsuranceInsights
