Last week, Diana and Maggie from our Rollins team had the privilege of attending the WIDA Conference in Pittsburgh, the largest event focused on multilingual learners in PreK-12! We co-presented "Centering Language & Culture in Georgia's Summer Transition Pre-K" with Devon Porter, DECAL's Summer Transition Program + Outreach Manager, sharing over a decade of work with educators across Georgia. One attendee called our Gift video “the best thing I’ve ever seen!” A standout moment was the keynote by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Quiara Alegría Hudes, who shared, “if you are fluent in a language, there is a place to belong.” Her message was incredibly powerful! #WIDA2024 #MultilingualLearners #PreKEducation #LanguageAndCulture #CoxCampus
