We would like to extend a very special thank you to all of our partners who attended our Southern Rivers Roundtable Kickoff Meeting last week. This is a new initiative for us here at Crater PDC, aiming to convene folks from across the Chowan Basin and leverage their expertise into project opportunities that will address environmental concerns and outdoor recreation opportunities in the watershed. We are looking forward to working with this amazing group of folks, and bringing great things to our region!

Big day today! After about a year's worth of hard work with our partners at Albemarle-Pamlico NEP and Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, we hosted our very first kickoff event for the new Southern Rivers Roundtable. The Southern Rivers Roundtable convenes regional agencies and stakeholders to facilitate dialogue and collaboration on initiatives to improve the well-being of the Chowan Basin's ecosystems and communities. We had a great turnout of about 40 folks from federal and state agencies, locality staff, NGOs, PDCs, and SWCDs from across the Chowan Basin region. This type of regional collaboration is what we love to do at the Crater Planning District Commission, and it was deeply gratifying and humbling to see our efforts pay off. Today, we celebrate. Tomorrow, we get to work! #newproject
