The Strength in Neurodiversity scholarship aims to address the disproportionately low rate of scholarships awarded to neurodiverse students. Many exceptional individuals miss out on opportunities to pursue their education and achieve their goals. Neurodiverse students, who are often innovative, hardworking, creative, quick-thinking, and empathetic, deserve an equal chance to further their education. The Strength in Neurodiversity Scholarship will support all high school seniors diagnosed with or with an IEP documenting ADHD, ASD, and/or any documented learning disability. To apply, please describe your historical experience as a neurodiverse student and how you will leverage your unique neurodiverse strengths, skills, and perspectives to succeed in college and/or your proposed career. Alyssa V Phillips Foundation Grant ! According to https://lnkd.in/gXMfGZAA ‘‘The purpose of the Alyssa V Phillips Foundation is to support individuals with Cerebral Palsy (“CP”) with a focus on assisting children with CP, the families of children with CP, or any individual impacted by CP in maximizing independence.’’ Alyssa, 23, has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, dystonia, and athetoid CP due to oxygen deprivation at birth. She's passionate about advocating for people with disabilities; she serves as the Executive Director of the Alyssa V Phillips Foundation while pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work at Abilene Christian University. The Foundation may offer financial assistance to individuals affected by CP. Qualifications: • Have a diagnosed disability of cerebral palsy • US citizen • Have a letter of recommendation from a healthcare professional. other funding options before applying with the Alyssa V Phillips Foundation . • Be able to provide a denial letter or explanation of non-coverage if an applicant has medical insurance or government funding . • For any request involving vehicle modifications, the vehicle must not be greater than 7 years old and must have fewer than 100,000 mi. • It is expected that for any item that costs over $1,000.00 a portion of the total cost would be self-funded by the applicant (or another resource). Applicants are required to detail such matters for requests greater than $1,000.00 • For requests in excess of $3,000.00, a portion of the cost must be funded through sources other than the Alyssa V Phillips Foundation. • If an application is denied due to limited funding, applicants can re-apply 150 days from the original application.
