CRCPD Board leadership members Lisa Bruedigan, Chairperson, Rikki Waller, Past Chair, and Pat Mulligan, Chair-Elect, accompanied by Executive Director Ruth McBurney, visited several agencies to discuss radiation protection issues of mutual interest. The agencies they visited included the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s Consequence Management Group and Office of Radiological Security, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Office of Emerging Threats and Technical Hazards Division. In addition, The Organization of Agreement States (OAS) and the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors (CRCPD) participated in an NRC Public Meeting on October 8, 2024, to brief the Commission on radioactive materials policy and regulatory issues of interest to the States.  This activity is part of ongoing coordination and cooperation between our two organizations to support state radioactive materials programs. The two organizations’ representatives also met with each of the Commissioners and senior staff during that day.
