Check out the latest construction progress of the #CREATEProgramChicago's Forest Hill Flyover! Our construction team, led by CSX, TranSystems and Granite Construction, has been hard at work to build this rail-rail flyover bridge which will address conflicts between The Belt Railway Company of Chicago, CSX, Norfolk Southern and Metra Commuter Rail trains. This summer, the #CREATEProgramChicago had the pleasure of hosting a fantastic 6-week internship program for 8 of Chicago's brightest high school students. These young professionals gained invaluable experience, developed new skills, and made lasting connections. From hands-on projects to mentorship from industry leaders, our interns immersed themselves in their roles and truly shined. We're incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication, and the growth they've shown. The Chicago Integrated Rail Operations Center (CIROC) is responsible for the coordination of rail operations to and through the Chicago region. A round of applause to the incredible teams from Simeon Career Academy, Leo High School, and Englewood STEM High School for their outstanding performances in the CREATE Program's High School Request for Proposal (RFP) Competition! After thoughtful deliberation, Simeon Career Academy rose to the top spot 🥇, followed closely by Leo High School in second place 🥈, and Englewood STEM High School securing the third position 🥉. Each school brought unique perspectives and innovative ideas to the table, making the competition incredibly close and showcasing the immense talent within our 75th St. CIP community.
