The economic direction of our nation is largely shaped by a small fraction of American households. A recent Wall Street Journal report showed that the top 10% of income earning households account for half of all spending and a majority of discretionary spending, meaning that 10% of American households account for 1/3 of economic growth. The bottom line: this decline, coupled with weaker demand for leisure travel, has led us to raise the 2025 recession probability to 20%. While we expect slowing growth and easing inflation, the economic outlook is shifting.

Join us on today at 4:15 CT! Cresset President and COO Susie Cranston and her mother, Mary Cranston, discuss paving the way for future generations of women and leading with strength, adaptability, and purpose. RSVP here: https://lnkd.in/g88AqrTe #WomensHistoryMonth
Growing up, I loved having a mom who was a leader in her field. My mom was one of the first female partners and CEOs of a major law firm and one of the few female corporate directors for public companies for decades. This March, in honor of Women's History Month, I’m excited to invite you to something very special: a conversation with my mom, Mary Cranston, about leadership across generations. This event is deeply personal to me. It’s a chance to share the lessons, wisdom, and love my mom has passed down to me over the years. She's been a role model in my career and in life—teaching me the power of hard work, resilience, and authentic leadership. In this conversation, we’ll discuss how leadership evolves across generations, the unique challenges women face, and the importance of supporting one another every step of the way. I’d love for you to join us this Wednesday, March 26th for what promises to be a meaningful and empowering conversation. #WomensHistoryMonth RSVP: https://lnkd.in/gs6uBUP8

The key takeaways: • Cresset's Liquidity Barometer monitors JPY/USD, inflation expectations, stock and bond market volatility, and corporate bond spreads • The BBB bond spread is an excellent real-time liquidity measure • Widening spreads are an early warning signal of economic and market troubles • For now, our Barometer reading is neutral Read more from Jack Ablin, CFA in this week's Market Update: https://lnkd.in/gTSAMWbG
