We provide M&A advisory services and private capital solutions to founder-led software companies, software-enabled services companies, and software-focused private equity firms. Our senior team has advised on over 75 completed M&A and capital markets transactions comprising over $50 billion in total transaction value. We are seeking a Director of Business Development to join our growing firm. This is a remote position, and relocation to Los Angeles is not required. **Position Description** The Director of Business Development will lead M&A transaction sourcing within the software industry by developing relationships with software company founders, CEOs, private equity firms, debt capital providers, and other industry participants. The Director will manage the firm’s transaction pipeline, lead deal sourcing initiatives, and oversee business development functions. Prior M&A experience is preferred but not required. This is a full-commission, non-salaried position with no income caps. **Responsibilities** - Build and maintain relationships with software company CEOs, founders, and senior executives - Develop and maintain relationships with software-focused institutional investors - Participate in pitching Crestone’s services to clients and prospects - Develop and execute email and social media campaigns to identify new M&A and capital raising opportunities - Coordinate and participate in technology and software conferences to promote the firm’s brand - Develop and deliver presentations and sales and marketing materials for business development - Support a positive firm culture focused on delivering best-in-class service to clients **Qualifications** - Undergraduate degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred - At least 10 years of professional work experience after obtaining an undergraduate degree - Previous senior sales leadership or business development experience with a consistent track record of success - Ability to establish high-level business relationships with CEOs, owners of prospective client companies, and private equity firm leadership - Highly driven, energetic, persistent, and committed to high ethical standards - Process-oriented and willing to rigorously execute business development initiatives - Interest in continuous learning and development of software sector knowledge and expertise - Desire for control over work and personal time schedule (no personal or vacation time limitations) - Desire for minimal work travel and a better quality of life
